About Us

Welcome to The FA Taylor Company, a roofing contractor with a rich history spanning four generations.

Our operation continues to grow everyday thanks to the confidence our clients have in us.

Origin

The company’s origins can be traced back to its founder, Francis Aaron Taylor Senior, who initially had a successful career with the roofing manufacturer and contractor, Phillip Carey. In 1938, an Act passed by Congress prohibited manufacturers from installing their own products, creating a unique opportunity for Senior to acquire the contracting portion of the business. On March 1st, 1938, he established The F. A. Taylor Company in Baltimore, Maryland.

Leading the Way

After Francis Senior’s passing, the business passed to his son, Francis Aaron Taylor Junior, who served in World War II. During his absence, Helen E. Taylor managed the company until Junior’s return in the summer. Junior retired in 1984, appointing David Taylor as President, and despite economic challenges, the company expanded to Salisbury, Maryland, in 1979. The succession continued with David’s son, Matthew Taylor, who joined the family business in 2015, symbolizing another chapter in FA Taylor’s enduring success.

Present Day

Fast forward to 2023, and Matthew Taylor took ownership of the Salisbury branch, while also restoring its original name, The F. A. Taylor Company. In doing so, he ensured the legacy of the Taylor Family endures. Matt enthusiastically carries forward the time-honored traditions of exceptional customer service, uncompromising quality, and four generations worth of roofing expertise. This transition marks yet another pivotal milestone in the enduring story of our family-owned and operated roofing business.
